Thomas Schisler elected Secretary

Schisler TomThomas Schisler elected Secretary–Treasurer of the Fraternal Field Managers Association (FFMA) board of directors.

 Tom will succeed James R. Pearson, Woodman of the World, and will assume this position May 2016.

Thomas Schisler began his career with the Catholic Aid Association (now Catholic United Financial) September 1, 1987 as a Field Representative in the southern part of Minnesota.  In 1990, Tom was asked to take over an agency in the southern suburbs of Minneapolis.  Tom built a successful business for himself and Catholic United earning numerous awards including the Presidents Club award (multiple) and the Presidents Conference (multiple).  Tom also earned the Catholic United FIC of the Year Award in 1994.  Tom was active in the fraternal side of the business helping to start 3 new Catholic United Councils in his service area between 1990 and 1997.

In 1997 Tom was asked to consider a management position with Catholic United.  On September 1, 1997 he moved his family to St. Cloud Minnesota and began his management career.  Tom successfully grew the region in both representatives and production.  Tom again earned the Presidents Club and Conference awards as a Regional Manger.

In February 2002 Tom was asked to become the Director of Sales for Catholic United Financial.  As Director of Sales, Tom has assisted in developing Catholic United’s first full time trainer and the hiring of the company’s first full time recruiter.  Since Tom has been Director of Sales, Catholic United has seen a steady increase in life insurance premium and annuity premium.  Tom works with his team of Regional Managers to train the sales force to represent Catholic United in the best possible way.  Tom is also on the Executive Team, Corporate Contributions Committee, and Strategic Leadership Team at Catholic United Financial.

Tom was active in the MNFIC as a board member for 4 years and was on the Central MN NAIFA Board as IFAPAC Chair for three years.  Tom went through the chairs of the FFMA completing his term as President in 2013.

Tom is married to his wife Clare (30 years) and has 2 daughters, Melissa is a 6th grade English teacher and Mariah is a Business Analyst at Kwik Trip.  Tom enjoys: traveling, cooking, entertaining, golf, and hunting when he has the time.

Tom and Clare are members of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Woodbury MN where they are active in the Cana Ministry, Men’s Club and other volunteer activities.  Tom was a Catholic School board member for 6 years and is currently the Finance Chair at the parish.  He enjoys volunteering at a variety of activities including pancake breakfasts, roadside cleanup, parish landscaping and other events.

Greg Felton Elected President

Greg has more than 30 years of insurance experience. He has been an agent, manager, corporate trainer and is currently the National Sales Director for National Slovak Society/NSS Life. Greg has served as president of his local NAIFA, National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors chapter.  Greg has also served as President of the Pittsburgh chapter of the Society of Financial Service Professionals (FSP). In addition to being the newly elected President of FFMA, Fraternal Field Managers Association he is also serving as the President of the Fraternal Societies of Greater Pittsburgh.

Steward D. Lyman confirmed as Board member

Lyman, StewSteward D. Lyman, LOMA, CLU, FIC, LUTA, FICF, CLF elected to Fraternal Field Manager’s Association Board

The Fraternal Field Manager’s Association confirmed Steward D. Lyman as a Board member at their May 12 meeting in San Antonio, Texas

Stew Lyman is a divisional field manager in the Field Development Department at Modern Woodmen of America, a fraternal financial services organization based in Rock Island, Ill.

Mr. Lyman joined Modern Woodmen in 2001 as a field representative before taking over his current position in 2003.

In his position, Mr. Lyman provides consultative support to regional directors and managing partners on recruiting, training and supervision. He conducts management training schools and conferences and develops recruiting and supervision materials.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in education from The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina in Charleston. He has earned his Chartered Leadership Fellow and Fraternal Insurance Counsellor designations and is series 7, 63 and 65 registered.

Stew, his wife, Cheryl, and their two children live in Moline, Ill.

Fraternal Field Managers’ Association to hold first ever Annual Meeting

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. — The Fraternal Field Managers’ Association is pleased to announce that the first ever annual meeting will take place on Sept. 5, 2013 in conjunction with the American Fraternal Association Annual Meeting at the Westin Diplomat Resort & Spa in Hollywood, Fl. The meeting will run from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the resort, and will include remarks from Past President Mark Dean and incoming President Joe Martinez.

The inagural FFMA Annual Meeting will provide an open forum for the FFMA board to update representatives of FFMA member societies on the many benefits of membership in the organization. The meeting will also serve as an opportunity for any representative to ask questions about the FFMA and its various programs, as well as provide a venue to seek input as to what needs may be met or supported by the FFMA to their field managers and leaders.
