At the National Association of Fraternal Insurance Counselors (NAFIC) National Meeting in San Antonio, Texas, Bill Moore of Kinder Brothers International, addressed the Texas Chapter of the Fraternal Insurance Counselors. He shared with the group the role the Fraternal Advisor has as a business professional. He also talked about the Critical Factors of being a Fraternal entrepreneur and how important it is in servicing the membership and generating revenue for the Societies. Bill stated, “It is critical in the low investment environment for Fraternal advisors to generate revenue for the Societies. It is a critical factor in continuing our Societies’ charitable works.” He also shared the five principles that make a successful financial advisor in today’s marketplace. Greg has more than 30 years of insurance experience. He has been an agent, manager, corporate trainer and is currently the National Sales Director for National Slovak Society/NSS Life. Greg has served as president of his local NAIFA, National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors chapter. Greg has also served as President of the Pittsburgh chapter of the Society of Financial Service Professionals (FSP). In addition to being the newly elected President of FFMA, Fraternal Field Managers Association he is also serving as the President of the Fraternal Societies of Greater Pittsburgh.

The Fraternal Field Manager’s Association confirmed Steward D. Lyman as a Board member at their May 12 meeting in San Antonio, Texas
Stew Lyman is a divisional field manager in the Field Development Department at Modern Woodmen of America, a fraternal financial services organization based in Rock Island, Ill.
Mr. Lyman joined Modern Woodmen in 2001 as a field representative before taking over his current position in 2003.
In his position, Mr. Lyman provides consultative support to regional directors and managing partners on recruiting, training and supervision. He conducts management training schools and conferences and develops recruiting and supervision materials.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in education from The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina in Charleston. He has earned his Chartered Leadership Fellow and Fraternal Insurance Counsellor designations and is series 7, 63 and 65 registered.
Stew, his wife, Cheryl, and their two children live in Moline, Ill.
Ruth B. Bash, FIC, CLU, ChFC, Director of Field Leadership, Thrivent Financial, has been elected to the board of Directors of the Fraternal Field Managers Association, (FFMA). Ruth has more than 30 years of experience at Thrivent Financial in leadership positions across the organization including Fraternal, Member Engagement, Field Technology and Compliance. In her current role, Ruth leads a team of people supporting field leadership growth and the operational effectiveness of our regional financial offices. The FFMA held its first ever Annual Member Meeting on September 5 in Hollywood, Fla., in conjunction with the American Fraternal Association Annual Meeting. The meeting was a success, providing a forum for members to ask questions and receive updates and information about the benefits of membership in the FFMA.
At this past convention of the National Association of Fraternal Insurance Counselors, Victor T. Hildebrand was named the Thrivent Financial FIC of the Year. Hildebrand accepted the award, presented by H. E. Durbin, CFP®, ChFC®, CLU®, MBA, President of NAFIC, Mark B. Dean, FIC, LUTCF, Past President of FFMA, and Loren C. HOLLYWOOD, Fla. — The Fraternal Field Managers’ Association is pleased to announce that the first ever annual meeting will take place on Sept. 5, 2013 in conjunction with the American Fraternal Association Annual Meeting at the Westin Diplomat Resort & Spa in Hollywood, Fl. The meeting will run from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the resort, and will include remarks from Past President Mark Dean and incoming President Joe Martinez.
The inagural FFMA Annual Meeting will provide an open forum for the FFMA board to update representatives of FFMA member societies on the many benefits of membership in the organization. The meeting will also serve as an opportunity for any representative to ask questions about the FFMA and its various programs, as well as provide a venue to seek input as to what needs may be met or supported by the FFMA to their field managers and leaders.
